APA Nationals provides opportunities for players to compete in Las Vegas, NV against other APA league areas across the globe (America, Canada, Japan and Singapore).  Outside of standard format teams that compete during the APA World Pool Championships (August) and individuals that compete in the 8-Ball Classic and 9-Ball Shootout during the APA Poolplayers Championships (April/May), Showdown Series offers doubles and specialty teams to compete.
 
 
8-Ball Doubles
 
 
2 player teams, any combination up to skill level 10. Players must be on an 8-Ball team roster. 
9-Ball Doubles
 
2 player teams, any combination up to skill level 10. Players must be on a 9-Ball team roster.
 Jack & Jill
 

2 player teams, male and female combination up to skill level 10. Players must be on an 8-Ball team roster.
Ladies 8-Ball Teams 
 
5 player teams consist of females only.  3 players per match not to exceed combined skill level 13.  Division play eligibility. 
 Team Captains

 
5 player teams.  Players must be team captains of a standard format team or ladies team for 2 sessions during a league year (summer-spring).  3 players per match not to exceed combined skill level 15.  
Masters Team

 
 4 player teams.  3 players per match with no skill level cap. Play both 8-Ball and 9-Ball racks in a no handicap race to 7.  Division play eligibility.
 
 
Showdown Series championship event slots are either earned as part of a division (Ladies and Masters) or through a qualifier event when there is no related division play (Doubles and Team Captains).
